Founded on 2 October 2000 by the late Oustass Mamadou Kaddy Demba, UQES was established to provide both Islamic and academic education to children in The Gambia.

Following his passing on 1 June 2025, his son, Mr. Yankuba Demba, became the Head Teacher and continues his father’s mission of educating children with faith, knowledge, and excellence.

Mission: To provide quality Islamic and academic education while developing responsible and God-conscious future leaders.

Vision: To become one of The Gambia’s leading Qur’anic and English schools.

Admissions are open to children who wish to receive both Islamic and academic education.

Our school welcomes students of different ages and educational backgrounds. We are committed to making education accessible and affordable for every child.

Our greatest challenge is securing our own land. We currently operate on community-owned land, and because it is not permanently ours, we may be asked to leave whenever the community needs the space.
Our dream is to build a permanent school with modern classrooms, a library, computer lab, offices, clean toilets, and other essential facilities.
